Animals
We do not allow emotional support animals or pets inside the Museum. Service animals are always welcome at the Museum. We abide by ADA and state laws regarding service animals.
Baby Care
Baby changing tables are available in the both men’s and women’s restrooms on the main floor.
Cleaning Procedures
The SGCM maintains a high standard of cleaning and sanitizing standards for a children’s museum. Daily cleaning and sanitizing of exhibits plus maintenance of bathrooms and hallways is done prior to opening each day. Hand sanitizers are available throughout the Museum for guests and staff.
Directions
The SGCM is located in the center of downtown St. George on the corner of Main Street and 100 South at 86 South Main. From I-15, take exit 8 and drive west on St. George Blvd to Main Street. Turn right and drive two blocks. The Museum is located on the right, adjacent to Town Square.
Dress Code
Patrons are asked to wear proper clothing and footwear to the Museum. Children should be dry and are encouraged to visit the Museum before playing in the water park at Town Square.
Education
SGCM offers drop-in classes and camps to the general public. An agenda of future events is published in print and online, and is available at the admission desk.
Entrance
General public entrance is through the east front doors of the Museum. Limited mobility access is located through the west entrance. Our west entrance, facing the St. George library, is available to all guests who prefer to use an elevator to access the different floors of the building. This entrance remains locked during business hours. When a guest arrives at the entrance, they will push a button that alerts our front desk of their arrival. A staff member will unlock the door and direct guest to the front desk.
Food and Drink
Food and drink (except water) are not allowed inside the Museum.
Inappropriate Language
Swearing and offensive language are not permitted in the Museum … little ears are always listening!
Information
Information is available at the admission desk. Services provided include: donation information, party rentals, classes and camps, lost and found, directions, visit planning, first aid, lost persons, and more.
Foreign Languages
Efforts will be made to assist non-English speaking visitors.
Lost and Found
Lost and found is located at the admission desk. The SGCM is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Lost Persons
For the safety of all, adults must stay with their children (under the age of 16) at all times during their visit and should have a plan in place in case of accidental separation. If a child and adult become separated, a staff or volunteer person should be notified. The Museum has a procedure in place for reuniting children with their adults.
Parking
Parking is located on the west parking lot off 200 west or in the Main Street parking plaza.
Parties and Events
SGCM offers two rental options to patrons: the Birthday Party Room and the After Hours Event. Information and forms are available at the admission desk. View parties and events details
Restrooms
Restrooms are located at the west end of the main floor.
Smoking
Smoking is not allowed on Museum property.
Strollers
Stroller parking space is limited in the Museum. Please consider leaving your stroller at home or using a smaller umbrella-style stoller. Please note that some exhibit spaces cannot accommodate strollers. Valuables should not be left in unattended strollers.
Surveys and Evaluations
Public and in-house surveys and evaluations will be taken periodically and determined by the governing board. Respondent’s names and responses will be kept confidential; only total results and statistics will be shared or made public.
Unaccompanied Adults
Adults visiting the Museum without children must provide a government-issued identification at the admission desk and MUST BE escorted by SGCM personnel. This can be found on our website under visitors and patron services under unaccompanied minors.
Wheelchairs
SGCM is ADA compliant. The elevator is located at the west entrance, and all exhibit rooms are wheelchair accessible.
Admission Wristband Protocol
For safety measures, wristbands are given to every Museum guest, excluding babies. Wristbands must be visible. Different colored wristbands are used to identify field trip and birthday party guests. Guests who are not staying long or are in the building for specific reasons other than visiting the Museum are required to leave a government-issued identification with a Museum official. SGCM has the right to ask guests to leave the building if they do not comply with the Wristband protocol.
